Natalie Curtis

Natalie leads Walkers’ Regulatory Risk & Advisory practice in Asia and the Middle East and is a member of Walkers’ Global Fintech Group.

Natalie has extensive experience advising financial service providers, investment funds, and fintech and virtual asset service providers (VASP) on non-contentious and contentious regulatory matters. In the rapidly evolving fintech and virtual asset sectors in particular, Natalie has worked with an impressive client roster spanning leading virtual asset trading platforms and technology companies to traditional financial institutions. Natalie’s experience in these sectors includes advising on establishing tokenised funds and virtual banks, tokenised debt issuances, payment and VASP licensing and registration, compliance frameworks for VASPs, token/coin/NFT generation events, RWA tokenisation, OTC crypto-derivative trading and app-based securities trading platforms.

Natalie regularly interacts with key regulators and works closely with industry bodies to drive financial services and virtual asset regulatory reform and developments. Natalie is a member of AIMA’s Hong Kong Regulatory Committee and its Asia Digital Assets Working Group, among other industry associations. She also regularly speaks at industry conferences on regulatory and virtual asset-related topics.

Joshua Heng

Joshua Heng advises fund managers and their investment funds on formation and restructuring matters. He works with all types of retail and private funds, including mutual funds, unit trusts, hedge funds, fund of funds, digital assets funds, venture capital funds, private equity funds, ETFs, and real estate funds.

Joshua also provides guidance to fund managers and their investment funds in investor negotiations, negotiating segregated managed account mandates and advising on cross border regulatory matters, including licensing and registration considerations, exemptions from licensing requirements, marketing arrangements, offering rules, conduct of business obligations and regulatory reporting requirements. He also advises fund managers and other licensed and exempt entities in setting up in the region, including on associated regulatory, employment and immigration considerations.

He has launched tokenized funds and has represented global asset managers involved in tokenizing the Variable Capital Company (VCC) as part of the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s Project.

Tania Toh

Tania is a partner in Walkers’ Investment Funds and Corporate Group based in Singapore, specialising in investment fund formation as well as corporate and capital markets transactions.

Tania regularly works with managers on the formation of private equity, hedge and venture capital fund structures and the establishment of carry, co-investment and alternative investment structures with a focus on managers based in Singapore, Southeast Asia and Australia. Tania is a member of AIMA’s digital assets working group.

Vincent Turcotte

He also serves as co-Chair of the FIX Digital Assets Committee. Vince has worked in various roles in the Digital Assets space since 2017, focusing on Compliance SaaS, market infrastructure, and blockchain technology and applications. Prior to that, he worked in Asia Pacific in listed derivatives and fixed income for Nomura, Newedge, UBS and J.P. Morgan. Vince’s passion is working to bridge traditional centralized market technology with the world of decentralized finance.
