Getting the SPV Right from Day One: Practical Insights for Fund Managers

With M&A activity in Singapore and across Asia regaining momentum, fund managers are actively reviewing the fund and holding structures (including use of SPVs) to hold assets, execute add-ons and manage exits. Yet tax leakages, weak governance and operational gaps can quietly compound if the SPV is not designed and stewarded well from the start. This interactive panel brings together practitioners across tax, directorship, corporate secretarial and accounting to share practical do's and don'ts, recent regulatory developments, and real-world case studies. Expect candid discussion and actionable takeaways you can apply immediately to your SPV portfolios.

SFDA Members End of Year Gathering & Networking

We're excited to announce that the SFDA year-end gathering and networking event is set to take place on Thursday, 27 November 2025, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.

It's a great opportunity for our members to come together at year's end in an informal capacity and a chance for our chairman to update our members on activities over the year and highlight key events in the new year.

The event will also act as a graduation ceremony for all our members who completed our Certificate in Fund Governance over the last 6 months, we welcome those members to attend so we can celebrate their achievements.

This panel will offer a balanced exploration of the world’s leading fund jurisdictions—including the Cayman Islands, Dublin, Luxembourg, Australia, and Singapore—unpacking the core features, benefits, and limitations of each. While established centres like Cayman and Luxembourg continue to attract global capital, Singapore’s Variable Capital Company (VCC) regime is generating increasing interest for its innovative approach and regional connectivity.
